Learning Support and SEND

At Gunnersbury Catholic School we strive to ensure that all of our students fulfil their potential and are equipped with the knowledge and cultural capital to succeed in life, making a positive contribution to society.  The school works hard to adapt learning to match each individual students needs.

SEND/Learning Support

Students with special educational needs and disabilities are offered a broad and balanced curriculum which aims to ensure their full participation in all aspects of school life.  Provisions for pupils with SEND are intended to enable them to make the greatest possible progress in the context of the curriculum and their personal development.  Where possible, pupils with special educational needs are given in class support; where more intensive or specialist support is required pupils may be withdrawn from class.

English as an additional language (EAL)

Students with English as an additional language can receive additional support to develop their skills in learning the language.  Overwhelmingly this support is delivered within their lessons.

Our SEND policy and our SEND Information report can be accessed via the links below.  These will provide greater detail of our approach to supporting students with SEND to great success
