Business and Economics
We offer a range of courses that are closely allied to the world of business and finance. GCSE Business Studies offers pupils an opportunity to learn about and and investigate a wide spectrum of subjects such as enterprise, business organisations, business law, marketing and finance. Learners are encouraged to be inspired, moved and changed by following a broad, coherent, satisfying and worthwhile course of study. Pupils gain an insight into business management, accountancy and finance, human resource management, retail management and international business and are able to make informed decisions about learning opportunities and career choices.
BTEC Tech Awards in Enterprise (KS4 only) aims to prepare you for employment within the Business sector. The course offers a qualification, which provides vocational emphasis within the World of Business. Equally, the course offers a focused qualification for learners who wish to follow a programme of study that is directly related to an aspect of employment that they wish to move into in due course. Topics that are studied include Business planning, Marketing, Finance and Sales…”
In Sixth Form, we offer 'A' level Business Studies, 'A' level Economics and BTEC Extended Diploma in Business, all of which lead to higher study at university and to careers in the commercial world, for example in banking, sales, product management or general management. With many Sixth Formers taking more than one of the three subjects, there is a vibrant and supportive atmosphere.
