  • Outstanding 2024 GCSE Results!

    We were thrilled to welcome back our Year 11 students today to receive their GCSE results.  The nerves, tension and apprehension could be clearly seen on their faces as they tentatively opened the envelopes to see the grades they had been awarded. 

    Very quickly the sounds of laughter, cheers and excitement were filling the school as our Year 11 celebrated the fantastic results they truly deserved! We were ecstatic for all our students who have achieved yet again a set of amazing results. 

    Gunnersbury boys have surpassed national expectations and achieved phenomenal results.  An impressive 45% of students achieved grades 9-7.  In addition, 81% of our students achieved 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths and 90% achieved 4 or more GCSEs including English and Maths

    The Year 11s of 2024 have worked hard throughout the last two years to ensure the superb outcomes today. Undoubtedly; their outstanding application in lessons, at home and throughout the exam period; brilliantly supported by their teachers and parents; was worthwhile!  Our Year 11s now have doors to very exciting futures, opened very wide indeed.

  • 2024 A’Level and BTEC results!​​​​​​​

    Huge congratulations to our A’Level and BTEC students who received their results today!

    From the moment that we opened our gates, to welcome our Year 13s back for one last time, the morning was bursting with joy.  Students eagerly made their way to collect their envelope as parents waited anxiously for their son/daughter to collect their much-awaited results!  Unbridled joy was the overwhelming emotion as these young women and men shared their outstanding achievements with family and friends. 

    Our continued success was evident with a phenomenal 40% of grades at A’Level A*/A; and 68% A*-B grades, 94% of BTEC students achieved Distinction/D* - results that once again place Gunnersbury amongst the leading schools in the country!

    Students are now moving on to world-leading universities including: Imperial College London, Kings’ College London, Warwick, UCL, Bristol, Exeter, Manchester, Nottingham.  They will be embarking upon a vast a range of subjects such as: Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, History and Philosophy, Accounting and Finance, Economics, PPE.

    Our Headteacher Mr Kevin Burke commented: ‘We are immensely proud of all our Year 13 students for the continued hard work and effort that they have put into their studies.  Our students’ superb application, allied to the wonderful support provided by their families and teachers, have enabled such great achievement.  We send to each and every one of our departing Year 13s our best wishes for their studies and lives ahead.  We look forward to learning of your, undoubted many, exciting experiences and successes in the future.

    Today we have celebrated absolutely sensational results from our 2023 Year 11 students.

    • Indicative Progress 8 of +1.1 - (placing Gunnersbury in the top 3% of schools nationally)
    • Fantastic results in both English & Maths with 94% achieving grades 9-4
    • 7+ grades - 46%

    Gunnersbury boys have yet again surpassed national expectations and achieved phenomenal results.  An impressive 46% of students achieved grades 9-7 totally bucking the national trend this year of declining grades.  In addition, 94% of our students achieved 5 or more GCSEs including English and Maths

    We are incredibly proud of all our Year 11 students who yet again have shown that hard work, teacher support and of course the love and care of their families are a winning combination.  Our students are now able to embark onto their next stage of education and to the fantastic opportunities these grades have provided.  Many congratulations to our Year 11 students!

    Huge congratulations to our A-Level and BTEC students who received their fabulous results today!

    As we opened the school gates this morning, we were exceptionally excited to greet our Year 13 students and eagerly awaited them opening their envelopes.  It was a joy and a privilege to be able to celebrate their successes and share their achievements with family and friends. 

    Our 2023 cohort have continued our rich vein of excellence at A-Level and BTEC.  Their success included: 100% pass rate; 23% A*/A grades at A’Level; 95% Distinction*/Distinction within BTEC.  These Year 13s will be joining alumni at universities that are amongst the very best in the world including: Imperial College London, Kings’ College London, Warwick, UCL, Bristol, Exeter and Nottingham to name a mere few. We proudly observe that these young women and men have deservedly attained the very highest.  Ad Altiora!

    Our Headteacher, Mr Kevin Burke, commented; ‘We are absolutely delighted by the incredible and greatly deserved success of our Year 13s.  Throughout the year they have displayed great endeavour and incredible application towards their studies.   Further to this I thank our students’ families for continually providing such excellent support and our fantastic teachers for the truly brilliant education that they enable.  We wish each and every one of our Year 13s good luck in the next exciting stage of their lives and look forward to hearing of their future success.’
