Pilgrims of Hope- Our Jubilee Story

When Pope Francis Open the Holy Doors in Rome to welcome the 'Pilgrims of Hope' we celebrated within our school community!

This Jubilee Year has been a special time for our school as we embraced the call to become Pilgrims of Hope. Through prayer, action, creativity, and community spirit, we have deepened our faith and walked together with purpose, inspired by the hope that the Jubilee brings.

Our journey included a beautiful and symbolic project: the creation of a mosaic of the Jubilee logo. Designed and assembled by pupils and staff, it will stand proudly as a reminder of our shared mission and the values of unity and hope.

Throughout the year, we gathered in prayer and thanksgiving, including special Masses to mark the passing of Pope Francis and the election of Pope Leo. These moments of reflection reminded us of the strength and continuity of our Church, and the importance of keeping our leaders in our prayers.

Living our faith through action, we raised money for CAFOD and took part in the Big Lent Walk.  We also held regular food bank collections, responding with compassion to the needs of our local community.

Our spiritual journey continued through retreats focused on the theme of pilgrimage. These quiet and reflective times helped us explore what it means to walk with Christ, both in our daily lives and on the journey of faith. Students also took part in creative and hands-on activities, such as making rosary beads, helping us to grow in prayer and focus our hearts on Mary and Jesus.

In celebration of the global Church, we hosted an International Day – a joyful expression of the rich cultures and backgrounds that make up our school family. With music, food, and stories, we celebrated the diversity that strengthens us.

As part of our mission to serve others, we welcomed members of our local community for a special afternoon tea. It was a chance to connect across generations and share the warmth and hospitality that lies at the heart of our faith.

As Pilgrims of Hope, we look back with gratitude on a year of meaningful experiences, and we step forward with a renewed commitment to walk in faith, share hope, and live in love to celebrate the final part of the Jubilee Year from September.
