Borough Champions - Athletics Success!!!
On Tuesday evening, 27th November, three members of our debating society undertook the Rotary Club debating challenge. The Year 8 team eloquently rose to the challenge and won the intermediate shield and Max Bullock won best speaker of the competition. These students were so mature and confident in their delivery, showing the commitment and time they had given to the preparation of their speeches. A true credit to Gunnersbury!
Last weekend (24-25th November) students from Year 10 and 12/13 competed in the model UN. It was a tremendous experience and our own Piotr Kozicki in Year 10 won the ‘Best Delegate’ award. They represented a number of countries and had been preparing over a number of months. Another example of how our students are willing to put their own time and commitment into all they do. A true credit to our school.
On Thursday 29th our Year 10 rugby team competed victoriously against Hampton school in the U15 Middlesex rugby final. They played at an incredibly high level and showed pure determination through every minute of the match. It was a well-deserved win and all players were a credit to the school.
Gunnersbury is holding its Sixth Form Open evening for external applicants on 30 October 2018: 5-7pm
Gunnersbury Association:
We did it!! A massive thank you to all those who sponsored us. At the time of writing we have raised £3,463.88 towards the school library fund. We could not have done it without your help. An additional thank you to all those who came out and cheered us on along the route – especially our Gunnersbury Cheer Squad (complete with banner!) who staked out the 6 and 10 miles markers. A final thank you to Fuller’s who sponsored our team shirts.
