All staff have an important role to play in supporting students with their career development and have a duty to promote and practice equal opportunities for all young people regardless of gender, ethnic origin, and disability.

Staff should encourage conversations about career aspirations and next steps with the students. The students careers page on this website has lots of information about the different options at each transition point which you can look at or can signpost your students to.

Subject teachers have a particular duty to demonstrate how the skills and knowledge that is learned in the classroom is important and relevant to the world of work. For this reason, we have our subject enrichment and CEIAG weeks when teachers explore the career possibilities related to their subjects.
