Co-curricular

At the heart of a Gunnersbury education lies a wide range of enrichment opportunities; Gunnersbury boys can enjoy and benefit from a myriad of visits, trips, clubs and societies.

The excellent relationships that we have nurtured with Russell Group universities and with Eton College, the Rotary Club, the Law Society, the Science Museum and others, continue to enable increasing numbers of boys to further their love of learning and discovery, outside of the classroom.

We provide lunchtime and after school clubs and societies that are open to all and boys are encouraged to come along and explore.

Some societies, such as Chess Club, are designed to give boys a peaceful environment in which to relax and unwind. Others aim to develop a new skill or interest, such as the 3D Printing Club and our popular Drama Club

Below are links to the activities available before, during and after school for each different year group.

A range of after school clubs support boys’ learning in curriculum areas such as science, modern foreign languages, history and English. Our Science and Engineering Club works closely with the Science Museum in South Kensington on a range of exciting projects and competitions. The newly established Latin and Classics Society offers boys a deeper understanding of history, languages and foreign cultures. Our highly successful Debating Society take part in the UK Magistrates Court Mock Trial competition.

Developing skills of leadership and independence play a significant part in the extra-curricular life of the school. Our boys continue to shine at the annual Eton College Engineering Challenge, where their creative thinking talents produce winning results. Boys can choose to work towards the British Airways Language Award and the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. Our thriving Eco Group involves boys from all year groups, working together towards our commitment to secure a greener working environment in and around the school.

Sports enthusiasts can achieve the Sports Leader Award and budding entrepreneurs take part in range of national challenges such as Young Enterprise, Lionheart Challenge and the BskyB Future Leaders Challenge.

For the more adventurous boys in upper school, each year we offer the opportunity to travel to India to take part in Operation Raleigh.
