Academic Life

Gunnersbury pupils are high achieving and successful. In 2018, yet again, our boys were amongst the highest performers in the country, a Progress 8 score of 0.66 and 90% of our Year 11s securing 5 GCSE passes (including English and Maths) or more at grades A* to C.  For the eleventh year in succession, our ‘A’ Level pass rate was 100% and 32% of all ‘A’ Level passes were at grades A* and A.

Gunnersbury pupils go on to study at Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College, UCL, York, Durham, King’s College and Warwick, to name a few.  The traditions and values of our school permeate across all aspects of our provision, from Year 7 to Year 13.  Gunnersbury is a thriving, vibrant and caring learning community.   Ours is a school within which pupils take pride in succeeding at the very top levels, academically, spiritually, socially, on the sports field and in the creative arts.

Pupils say teachers at Gunnersbury are knowledgeable, approachable and helpful. Certainly, their goodwill in giving advice and support adds greatly to the quality of our provision and to pupils’ future success.

Our curriculum and courses are designed to motivate and challenge, and lessons are tailored to suit all learning styles.  Teachers are experts in their subjects and have many years’ experience of enabling pupils of all abilities to succeed at the very highest level.
