Official ! Gunnersbury in the top 1% of schools

Formal recognition from the DfE
Staff and pupils are celebrating after Gunnersbury Catholic School was named as one of the country's elite schools ! The school has gained national recognition for being in the top 1% of all secondary schools in the country, in terms of pupils’ achievements at GCSE ! The Fischer Family Trust (FFT) manages the National Pupil Database for the Department for Education and, from their data analyses of GCSE performance, all 3,500 secondary schools in the country are ranked according to how much value they have added to the scores their pupils were expected to achieve in the 2013 GCSE examinations. With 90% of Gunnersbury boys securing 5 or more GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grades A* to C, this accolade is a testament to the commitment and hard work of our boys, teachers and the support from families. We are delighted to be officially recognised by the Department of Education as one of the very best schools in the UK, out-performing many selective and independent institutions; this is a vindication of our belief in high expectations, good teaching and ambition for every young person who is a member of the Gunnersbury community.
